Alex Margiott comes to Triple Ring with both an academic background in signal processing and experience in optomechanical device design. Prior to joining the Optical Technologies group, he worked as an R&D and V&V engineer at Grove Instruments, which was focused on development of a noninvasive glucometer. His current work includes test setup automation, Monte Carlo optical simulations, product development, and more.
Alex received a BS in Biomedical Engineering (with distinction) from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, where his Major Qualifying Project focused on quantum dot stimulation of hippocampal neurons using a fluorescence microscopy technique. He is a member of the International Society for Optics and Photonics (SPIE), and the Optical Society (OSA).
