Amanda Powell

Optical Scientist

Amanda Powell brings her expertise in optical design and quantitative imaging to Triple Ring Technologies. As an Optics Engineer on the Optics and Applied Physics team, she supports the development and execution of advanced optical systems. Her work involves hands-on optical bench setup, precision alignment, and the rapid prototyping of fixtures to support ongoing design and verification tests.

Before joining Triple Ring, Amanda conducted biophysics research at UCLA, where she designed and built a custom line-scanning confocal fluorescence microscope. Her work there also included developing automated 3D imaging and segmentation pipelines for vascular and disease-model imaging. Complementing her background in fluorescence microscopy, Amanda leverages her proficiency in SolidWorks, 3D printing, and Python to drive hardware development and streamline optical system alignment.

Amanda earned her B.S. in Biophysics from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where her research focused on optical tool development and the computational modeling of cellular behavior in vascular systems.

Let’s solve hard problems together.

Triple Ring is a co-development company. We stand side-by-side with innovators and entrepreneurs to solve hard problems, launch breakthrough products, and create new businesses.
