Kate Kamdin
Senior Scientist

Katayun (Kate) Kamdin earned her Ph.D. in physics at UC Berkeley. Her dissertation focused on the hunt for dark matter and improvements to a new generation of extremely sensitive dark matter detectors. During the course of her research Kate gained extensive experience in measurement design, signal processing, simulation, and data analysis for complex physical processes.

In addition to detector instrumentation for astrophysics, Kate has experience in x-ray diagnostics. As a Fulbright research grant recipient, she worked to improve the x-ray tomography diagnostics on a fusion energy experiment located at the Max Planck Institute near Munich, Germany.

Kate also holds an M.A. in physics from UC Berkeley and a B.A. in physics from the University of Chicago.
